Terms of Service

Welcome to Couplez ("we," "our," "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By downloading, accessing, or using Couplez, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Description of the Service

Couplez helps couples build stronger relationships through shared spaces for journaling, daily prompts, date-night ideas, tasks, and optional photo memories. Features may include:

• Creating a private space for you and your partner (a "Couple").
• Saving entries such as notes, questions & answers, anniversaries, and other milestones.
• Uploading and displaying photos relevant to your relationship.
• Optional reminders, streaks, and lightweight analytics to support habits.

3. Accounts & Couples

• You may create an account and invite a partner to join your Couple.
• If either partner leaves or a Couple is deleted, we will delete the Couple’s associated content from our active systems within a reasonable time, subject to legal obligations and necessary backups.
• You are responsible for keeping your login method (e.g., device, passcode, Sign in with Apple) secure.

4. Privacy & Data Handling

1. Personal Data We Process. To operate the Service, we process limited personal data such as account identifiers, partner names or nicknames, relationship dates you provide, and content you add (e.g., journal entries, tasks, photos).
2. Photos & User Content. Photos and other content you upload are stored to provide the Service (e.g., sync between partners, show your memories). We never sell your personal data or content. We do not use your photos or content for advertising or training machine‑learning models. Access to your content is limited to what is necessary to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
3. Third‑Party Processors. We may use reputable service providers (e.g., cloud hosting and image storage) to process data on our behalf under contracts that restrict their use of your data to providing services to us.
4. No Ads‑Based Profiling. Couplez does not serve behavioral advertising and does not sell personal information.
5. Deletion. You can request deletion of your account or Couple. After deletion, we will remove personal data from active systems and instruct our processors to do the same, subject to legal obligations and standard backup retention.

5. Your Content & License

You retain ownership of the content you add to Couplez (including photos). You grant us a limited, non‑exclusive, worldwide, revocable license to host, store, process, transmit, and display that content solely to operate, maintain, and provide the Service to you and your Couple. This license ends when your content is deleted from our systems.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by: (i) uploading unlawful or infringing content; (ii) violating privacy or intellectual property rights; (iii) attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Service; (iv) interfering with or disrupting the Service; or (v) using the Service in a way that could harm others.

7. Subscriptions & Purchases

Couplez may offer paid features or subscriptions. Pricing, billing, and refunds are handled by the app store where you made the purchase, and the store’s terms apply.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we believe it is necessary to protect the Service or other users. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

11. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app and reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
